Welcome to the XRAY X12'18 Thread & Wikipost! Here you will find some useful info, tips and tricks as well as setups that are used by several team drivers. Many of us run the X12'18 on high bite carpet and with most US tracks going to the new black CRC carpet, most setups from here out will be developed for those high bite conditions.

Tips & Tricks:
The latest front-end builds up super nice, especially the US version. Since there are fewer molded parts, we are noticing the US front-end to be more symmetrical and consistent.

As with any 1/12 pan car, a smooth operating suspension is critical to performance. It is recommended to polish your kingpins & hinge pins using a dremel or a drill and some sort of polish (IE Gravity polish or Mothers Aluminum polish will work). If you find that your suspension has a bind, you may look at using a reamer or drillbit to make sure the holes are clear of any flashing or debris. Some reamer sizes to consider having are 3mm and 2mm for the kingpin and the upper hinge pin. Be careful not to remove too much material if you decide to ream your plastics.

When building your pod, it is advised to use any wrench w/ 3mm shafts to help build the pod perfectly square. See photo:

Quite a few differences. I am not sure if all of the components will transfer from '17-18 but I think they will. EA would know the answer to that.

Maybe actually come with a graphite axle instead of making us by it extra?

I know of at least two people that installed the graphite axle and it was out of round, they had to go back to the steel.

This has been talked about but we will have to see when they release the final specs.

This is the first Ive heard of this issue. Ive had some faulty tire truing adapters make it appear the axle was warped or hub bent when it was actually the truer that wasnt cutting the tire straight.

I have not had the axle out of round, new. But, I have "bent" them in my F1, lol. I don't know why a XRay graphite axle will bend when others snap, lol.
The issue I have had with tire wobble is usually from the hubs wheel mount holes not being perfectly centered. Swapped hubs, no more wobble. Because of this, I either use the A/E axle and hubs or the IRS set. Never had wheel wobble since. And still have a brand new set of XRay hubs in my box, used the axle in my F1

Will X-Ray keep the same style of shock, or will they change it to a micro style shock like other 12th scale cars?
